Assistant Accountant
At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects.
An overview of the role:
The Assistant Accountant will report into the Financial Controller, ensuring that the month end management accounts are complete, whilst ensuring that the purchase ledger function complies with the monthly finance timetable.
This is a full-time role based at our head office in Norwich, with a flexible hybrid working option.

- Processing and inputting supplier invoices into accounting software, ensuring these are correct and match purchase orders
- Communicating with Project Engineers to ensure any issues with supplier invoices are solved in a timely manner, notifying suppliers of any discrepancies
- Ensuring that supplier invoices are approved to allow them to be included in the month end payment run
- Reconciliation and routine maintenance of all supplier accounts, assisting with the resolution of any issues relating to the supplier accounts
- Deal with invoice and payment queries from suppliers in a professional and courteous manner that maintains the established relationship
- Support the business in bringing in a new Purchase to Pay system
- Responsible to produce aspects of the monthly management and statutory accounts
- Prepare and post the monthly time-charges journal to support the preparation of the month end accounts
- Contribute to and support the annual external audit processes
