At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects.

We 're looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer/ Quality Engineer to join our expanding QHSE team based at our office in Aberdeen.

Full time (Hybrid) 

Salary £35,000 - £45,000 depending on qualifications and experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the QHSE & Sustainability Director in the delivery of QHSE & Sustainability targets and KPI’s
  • Responsible for the continued development / improvement of project related quality processes within the AE QMS.
  • Support the Company in the preparation of bids and quotations ensuring that QHSE aspects are addressed.
  • Support the development & delivery of audit & Improvement Programmes.
  • Produce and discharge Quality Inspection Test Plans for Projects (inc Tenders).
  • Deliver QHSE support and advice to Projects (inc Tenders).
  • Actively participate in Bid, Project & Design reviews.
  • Manage the application / use of non-conformance process to closure.
  • Lead/support project improvement activity (i.e. against Cost of Quality, Audit findings, Quality related performance issues).
  • Complete internal and supplier audits in accordance with ISO9001:2015.
  • Report regularly on quality related project performance.
  • Support the continued development and implementation of the Quality Management System.
  • Conduct inspections, witness testing and liaising with suppliers.
  • Provide expediting support to company projects to ensure the timely delivery of fabrication activities.
  • Oversee the formal release of equipment and materials from Company Suppliers.
  • Support the completion of internal & external Auditing program.
  • Compilation of reports, inspection forms and release notes.
  • Assuring that all project documentation is controlled and authorised appropriately to schedule.
  • Produce, manage, and report on QA activity schedules for projects.
  • Provide onsite support to company projects locally and globally as required to support project delivery.
  • Assist in Client visit/technical presentations as required.


Additional Key Duties and Responsibilities (Senior role)

  • Author &/or amend procedures & associated documentation for the AE QMS in accordance with the relevant management standard.
  • Ability to proactively drive and support company projects to ensure they meet and are performed within the requirements of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 & ISO45001:2018.
  • Provide project support in the development and execution of project control systems.
  • Offer operational support to Project Managers to ensure the effective delivery of project plans and budgets.
  • Ability to review, critique and manage the production of comprehensive programmes of work produced by Project Engineers / Managers to ensure they are in accordance with company, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • To support the QHSE Team Leader in providing operational and developmental support to QHSE & project engineers.

Essential Requirements: -

  • 5 years project experience, including major Cap Ex projects, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Holding and leading meetings.
  • Experience of successful client facing interactions
  • Reacts to project amendments and changes promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources and operate with comfort at all levels of the business and with clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible during times of change.

Desirable:

  • Relevant industry qualification / internal certificate gained relating to the offshore environment.
  • Preferred HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering.
  • Recognised auditor qualification.
  • Recognised OHSE qualification.
