Norwich, UK, 21/10/2025 – Aquaterra Energy, a leader in offshore engineering solutions, has appointed Matt Marcantonio as its new Head of Engineering, marking a significant step in the company’s continued growth and commitment to advancing offshore technologies.

Marcantonio, a respected industry figure with over 18 years of offshore energy experience, joins Aquaterra Energy to lead its global engineering function. He will be responsible for driving innovation, advancing new product development and reinforcing the company’s technical leadership across Well Access and Offshore Developments, including well intervention, late-life abandonment operations, and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Having spent nearly 17 years with Claxton Engineering, and 18 years in total within the Acteon Group, Marcantonio brings extensive expertise in riser systems, bespoke tooling and complex well abandonment projects, alongside experience in platform design from his time at UWG and 2H. He has a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative offshore solutions and his appointment will drive Aquaterra’s strategic focus on scaling its engineering capability and accelerating the development and deployment of proprietary technologies, including the Recoverable Abandonment Frame (RAF), its suite of AQC systems and the Sea Swift platform.
