Developing analytical expertise through challenging projects and continuous learning

I joined Aquaterra Energy in 2024 after completing an MEng in Engineering at the University of East Anglia. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in computational analysis and knew I wanted to pursue a career in this field. Aquaterra’s commitment to professional development and support towards Chartership made it the ideal place to begin my career, and since joining I have developed both my technical and professional skills through a wide range of projects.

As an Offshore Analyst, I undertake riser analysis work, carrying out mechanical and structural calculations, engaging with clients and presenting technical results. What I enjoy most is the variety of challenges that each project brings, along with the level of responsibility given to graduates from an early stage. A standout experience was working on a project involving the analysis of a new technology that had not previously been assessed by the department.

The project challenged me to develop new analytical approaches and culminated in a Lunch and Learn presentation where I shared the results and key learnings with colleagues across the business. Beyond project work, I’ve also enjoyed getting involved in charity fundraising activities, which have helped me build strong relationships with colleagues throughout Aquaterra.
