George has been with Aquaterra Energy since its formation in 2005, initially as the Project and Operations Director, before assuming the role of the company’s Managing Director from 2006-2012, and again from 2016-2018. George played a pivotal role in guiding the company’s expansion into offshore wind, green hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Storage in 2020, and now holds the position of CEO.
Throughout his tenure with Aquaterra Energy, George has overseen the management and delivery of projects covering the full range of Aquaterra Energy’s portfolio. Drawing on his extensive experience, which includes of delivering key products such as High-Pressure Risers since the 1990’s and Sea Swift offshore platforms since the early 2000’s, he has played a crucial role in the company’s growth and development.
George gained a BSc in Civil and Structural Engineering at Aberdeen University and embarked on his career in the offshore oil and gas industry in 1993. He spent 12 years working in Well Servicing, Commissioning and Project Management for Nowsco UK/BJ Services and then later for a leading offshore engineering company. Prior to joining Aquaterra Energy, he headed the Bespoke Engineering and Engineering Studies business unit at an offshore engineering company, overseeing all bespoke engineering projects, from initial identification to installation.
