Apprentice/Trainee Draughtsperson

Full-time (office based) at our office in Norwich

At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects.

We are seeking a motivated individual who would like to train to develop skills and undertake drafting in both AutoCAD and Solidworks software packages to create and deliver drawings which adhere and comply with company standards, protocols and appropriate industry codes. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 • Undertake training to develop a basic level of competency to support project delivery with drawings and technical documents.

• To develop skills and undertake drafting in both AutoCAD and Solidworks software packages to create and deliver drawings which adhere and comply with company standards, protocols and appropriate industry codes.

• Apply learning with development towards providing support to the project delivery team with in updating and creation of basic design drawings and documents under guidance from senior engineers.

• Liaising with Project teams. .Reports to the allocated Senior Design Engineer on day to day activities and for career development and mentoring.

• Attend design reviews and relevant project meetings.

• Become familiar with the AE management system and implement with the design output.

About you:

  • Good standard of English, Mathematics and Science
  • Some experience in a Mechanical or Technical role
  • Excellent IT skills, previous experience in software such as Solidworks & AutoCad
  • Can deal with ambiguity and conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Self motivated taking pride in delivering and meeting objectives
  • A desire to develop personal and professional skills.

This role requires the unfettered right to work in the UK.
