Financial Business Partner

Full-time (office based) at our office in Norwich

At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects. 

We are seeking a qualified Financial Business Partner with experience in industry and managing large, complex projects. This role involves close collaboration with all business streams, including both operations and management and requires the ability to work under strict deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in forecasting and flash reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with all business streams creating a real and active partnership with both operations and management; be a trusted adviser and add value that will assist in decision making.

• Provide 'real time' project reporting and analysis to the management team.

• Provide an effective link between day-to day project requirements and reporting and delivery of financial information in line with financial treatment for long-term contract accounting.

• Work closely with the Project Engineers (or other project lead) to provide accurate and timely project reports, including actual performance to date, Project budgets and forecasts, cash flow & Capex.

• Responsible for delivery of financial information for all business streams within agreed weekly/monthly timescales. Project summaries, Profit & Loss, Budget & Forecasts & Revenue, Invoice and order intake flash reports.

• Lead internal cost reviews.

• Provide financial support to the development of Price/Cost models for new bids and opportunities.

• Management of purchase orders for all third-party projects spend and approval of purchase invoices.

• Assist with IR35 review of contractors, to provide cover as required.

• Ensure client invoices are raised as per contract payment schedules and are in line with the relevant Country tax regimes.

• Ensure that information is complete and in line with agreed operational & financial deadlines, including Project reports, Management Accountants, Cash Flows.

• Develop key working relations at all levels of the business.

About you:

  • Accounting qualification or QBE
  • Oil & Gas or Engineering experience 
  • Experience of large complex projects
  • Cost Engineering & Project accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Pivot tables, macros, manipulation of large blocks of data.
  • Used to working to strict deadlines
  • Comfortable in identifying and implementing process change
  • Organised and accurate Self- motivated, taking a pride in delivering and meeting objectives.
  • Clear communicator and good Team player.

This role requires the unfettered right to work in the UK.
