Service Technician
Full-time based Great Yarmouth or Aberdeen.
At Aquaterra Energy we specialise in providing engineering solutions and equipment to the global offshore energy industry – helping clients drive efficient and sustainable offshore operations from drilling and field development, to decommissioning, carbon capture and storage, renewable, and hydrogen projects.
We are seeking a self motivated and experienced Offshore Service with a proven track record in a similar role. The successful candidate will have previous offshore experience with an unquestionable focus on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality. The ability to work independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment, with excellent IT and communication skills, is essential for this position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivering offshore services as part of projects: Preparing, redressing tools and equipment within the workshop (when and if required) & offshore including, but not limited to, CCTV camera systems, subsea disposable camera systems, various running & retrieval tools, tension rings, centralisers, gyro systems etc
- Maintenance of equipment at job site and returning it in serviceable condition
- Understanding of completing AEL internal documentation & where it is filed.
- Reviewing all offshore procedures prior to operations.
- Supporting AEL staff particularly the Project Engineer, to deliver the offshore phase of projects
- Supervise and assist with all AEL products and services during offshore operational phase.
- Collect or organise collection of information for the purposes of recording, e.g. measurements, serial numbers, elevations, depths, etc. • Complete detailed post project reports, time break down sheets, daily reports, service tickets etc.
- Liaising with client representatives, whilst offshore/onshore, at all levels.
- Where required, supervision of other crew members at customer sites
- Collect or organise collection of information for the purposes of recording, e.g. measurements, serial numbers, elevations, depths, etc.
- Complete detailed post project reports, time break down sheets, daily reports, service tickets etc.
- Preparing/mobilising for offshore phases.
- Project inventory management and demobilisation of equipment and personnel
- Provide on-the-job training for other members of staff
About you:
- Previous offshore experience working on various jack-up, semi sub and platform installations, with a good understanding of rig equipment.
- A minimum of three years of offshore structures, drilling and subsea equipment.
- Experience of working independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Relevant industry certificate in offshore survival
- Working knowledge and experience of operating hydraulic systems.
- Experience of working overseas and in harsh environments
- Familiarity with AEL lines (desired)
- Minimum industry standard training (MIST)
- City & Guilds/NVQ qualification or equivalent in a relevant Engineering/Mechanical discipline.
- Banksman/Slinger training/certification
- Risk Assessment training/certification
- Lifting Operations experience
- Flexible during times of change
- Good IT skills, Word, Excel and Outlook
- This role requires the existing legal right to work in the UK
