Bmi has announced that a new direct service will run between Aberdeen International Airport and Kristiansund on Norway’s mid north-western coast from August 2013, specifically to service oil and gas industry traffic. The new route will be running just in time for Offshore Europe in September.
Offshore Europe is the region’s biggest and most prestigious event, attracting a global audience of over 48,000 engineers, technical specialists and industry experts every two years to Aberdeen, the centre of Scotland’s oil and gas industry.
Eric Doyle, General Manager of Aquaterra Energy Aberdeen said: “Every two years Aberdeen gears up for Offshore Europe which is an important event on the international oil and gas calendar. This new route will help to bring two global industry hubs closer together, opening up new trade and investment opportunities for both the UK and Norway.
“The fact that the route will be open before Offshore Europe will enable our Norwegian colleagues to visit more readily and we’re looking forward to showcasing to them our seamless team delivery of offshore engineering services, from conceptual design to construction, installation and maintenance.”
